Omggg yes, thank you so much! My friend wrote a similar poem about a raccoon, the prompt is write a poem about what you think is roadkill but it’s just a stick, litter, etc

Well, the title wasn't lying! Haha, that squirrel fact at the end was, dare I say, nuts?

I'm so sorry for that pun, lol. But the poem! Ah, yet another hilarious and surprisingly moving piece! I still don't know how you do it, my comment the other day about your ability to tackle any topic still stands!

As someone who swerves wildly to avoid hitting squirrels or anything else in the road, I felt that sadness in the first half, but then the sharp right into the squirrel's personal life was absolutely hilarious! It could also be seen as a commentary on the paths we take through life, and how one choice can take us in wildly different directions.

So, once again, hilarious and profound. Another certified Audrey Anderson Masterpiece!

Yes! I love their imagined lives, the use of “that little bro”, “the smell of walnut skin”, the shrooming it up, their names. Jumpy. lol

Hee hee, thanks for reading! Peanut eats peanuts out of my hand and Jumpy tweaks out a bit. Had way too much fun. :)

Am curious what your raccoon will get up to, they got those little hands, I could see him/her getting into trouble lol.

Interesting idea "the squirrel you didn't kill". Love where research takes you.

I realized I do this all the time-- when I didn't drive over a squirrel I rejoice that it's still alive out there. Ha ha.

Lol, yes these bros never would have done shrooms if I hadn't researched squirrel behavior. Thanks for reading!
